Kate Petcosky

[Past staff]

Kate Petcosky was the CSA and Food Access Coordinator at New Entry from 2012 to 2014, managing both the World PEAS (People Enhancing Agricultural Sustainability) CSA, as well as distribution to low-income markets, such as area WIC programs, summer feeding projects, and senior food assistance initiatives.  During the winter months, Kate worked with farmers to determine crop production to meet the needs of our various markets, while also ensuring crop diversity for each producer.  She also helped farmers with annual business planning.  During the agricultural season, Kate oversaw assembly and distribution of over 400 CSA shares, managed shareholder communication, and sales to institutions and restaurants.

Kate graduated from Boston University and has a Masters degree in Food Studies from New York University.  Her graduate research centered on using an agrarian framework to understand the culture and community of urban gardens in Brooklyn.
