Hugh Joseph

Hugh JosephHugh Joseph is the New Entry Project Developer, and past Project Director for New Entry. In his role as Project Director, Dr. Joseph coordinated all New Entry activities and resource development since he founded the project in 1998. In his current role as Project Developer, Dr. Joseph assesses and initiates New Entry fundraising initiatives. He brings 30 years of experience in developing food, agriculture, and nutrition programs, primarily serving low-income constituencies. He is also a co-founder of the Community Food Security Coalition, the Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Working Group, the Northeast Food System Partnership, the Northeast Network of Immigrant Farming Projects, and the National Immigrant Farming Initiative. He develops guidance materials and provides training and technical assistance in community food security, evaluation, grantsmanship, and community food assessment to organizations nationwide.

He holds a Masters and Ph.D. in Nutrition from Tufts University and serves as Research Associate at the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy.
