Project SponsorsThe Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, Boston, MAThe Tufts Friedman School is a fiscal sponsor of the New Entry. The project is directed under the Center for Agriculture, Food, and Environment ("AFE") at the Tufts Friedman School. Tufts staff carries out coordination of activities, financial management, and project reporting in coordination with Community Teamwork, Inc. (see below). Tufts' professional financial management and bookkeeping staff manage all Friedman School subcontracted funds, and grants are audited by Tufts University accountants. The Project Director, Jennifer Hashley, and the Project Developer Hugh Joseph are based at Tufts Friedman School. Timothy Griffin, the AFE Director who serves as liaison to student service and employment opportunities, and supports related research and learning experiences in AFE areas, is also based at Tufts Friedman School. The AFE program provides academic expertise to the New Entry in addition to qualified students who work on a variety of New Entry-funded activities. (CTI), Lowell, MA![]() CTI is greater Lowell's Community Action Agency and fiscal sponsor of the New Entry and supporter of the New Entry field office and training center in Lowell. CTI leases project space to house the New Entry Lowell Office, agricultural lending library, and training conference room, and employs New Entry staff, including the Program and Finance Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator, Technical Assistance Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator, and Farm Manager. CTI administers grant funds directly to New Entry programs and administers subcontracts to Tufts University, provides central accounting, purchasing and property control, personnel and payroll services, and conducts an overall agency audit, which includes the New Entry program. CTI also administers Housing vouchers, Child Care Assistance, Fuel Assistance, Energy Conservation, WIC, Food Stamp Outreach, the Lowell Farmers' market, and many other programs that New Entry participants can access as part of CTI.
