Becca Weaver
Becca Weaver, Farmland matching service coordinator at New Entry, works as a matchmaker between farmers seeking land and landowners that are interested in having their land used for active agriculture. She works with farmers who have been through New Entry’s training programs, as well as works to coordinate and expand land matching efforts throughout the state of Massachusetts. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Washington University in St Louis, she started working on farms, combining her technical skills with her love for food and nature. She has worked on a number of community food educational projects, including starting Ganei Beantown (Beantown Jewish Gardens), an initiative to bring more sustainable food and agricultural education to the Boston area Jewish community. Becca received her master’s degree from Tufts University in Agriculture, Food, and the Environment, with a concentration in sustainable development and natural resource use. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, gardening, baking, domestic chemistry experiments, and sharing her knowledge with her community!
