New Entry's extended community of farmers is invited to this year's New Entry Farmer Summit.

On March 2 (Monday) at 6pm, staff from Westford's USDA-FSA/NRCS offices will come to New Entry's Lowell office to discuss programs funded by the new Congressional Farm Bill. Many of these programs were specifically created to help beginning farmers access very low interest loans or to cost-share farm infrastructure improvements. Very low interest loans of up to $50,000 are available for beginning farmers to buy tractors and implements, build barns & storage facilities, and construct greenhouses. Cost-share programs are available for beginning farmers to construct high tunnels, transition to certified organic practices, to drill wells and to install buried irrigation lines and hydrants.

This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about these new federally funded programs. The meeting will begin at 6pm and should end by 8:30pm. It will be in the classroom located on the 3rd floor next to our New Entry offices at 155 Merrimack Street, Lowell.
