Since 2011, New Entry has offered its long-standing Farm Business Planning Course online.
The online course was created to engage interested students who may experience barriers to attending weekly classroom sessions in Lowell. The online course provides students with a fully-integrated learning experience that mirrors the learning objectives of the classroom course while taking advantage of innovative technologies.
The Distance Learning Course has been suspended for the 2016-2017 season as we revise our curriculum. Please consider taking our classroom-based courses - information on these is available on our Farm Business Planning Course page.
The 8-week online course requires students to travel to downtown Boston for one weekend morning and to participate in one live webinar. Other live webinars will be scheduled. Other than these commitments, students are able to work independently to complete the weekly course modules and associated homework assignments.
The course fee is $500 with tuition assistance available to students demonstrating financial need. Prospective students may apply for a partial tuition scholarship when registering for the course. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and may cover up to 80% of the course fee. This form, along with a copy of your latest filed tax return, must be received no later than 10 days prior to the start of class in order to qualify.
There will be no refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of the start of the course, although substitutions for future workshops and conferences may be permitted. For cancellations made 8 days or more before the event, a refund may be requested, minus a processing fee of 10%. Notice of cancellation must be made via email to email@example.com.
