One VISTA member will take on the Development Facilitator role. This position offers an opportunity to build skills in fundraising, communications, networking, and teamwork. You will expand leveraged resources in fundraising, development and grant writing to help us better serve our low-income customers and limited-resource farmers alike. You will help us grow by: (i) working with staff to understand areas of growth and identify fundraising needs and drafting grant proposals; (ii) developing systems to educate community members about our programs and soliciting donations for our low income food access programming; (iii) assisting with outreach for our annual fundraiser dinner; (iv) and evaluating the effectiveness of capacity building efforts. One VISTA member will take on the Food Access Facilitator role. This position offers an opportunity to build skills in project management, communications, and teamwork while working in the area of low-income food access. You will expand partnerships with organizations serving low income individuals by: (i) assessing current relationships and improving partnerships with community organizations; (ii) developing resource materials geared towards low-income, elder clients (including generating articles around nutrition, recipes and stories highlighting senior farmers); (iii) developing outreach strategies and conducting outreach to increase food access program awareness (including digital media, PSA’s and one-on-one education); (iv) and developing tools to measure outcomes and conducting assessments. One VISTA member will take on the Volunteer Recruitment and Process Facilitator role. This position provides an opportunity to build skills in communications, recruitment, networking and teamwork. You will expand on our existing volunteer recruitment and management systems allowing us to better serve our low-income food access customers and limited resource farmers alike. You will help us build capacity by (i) establishing volunteer recruitment processes; (ii) maintaining records on volunteer activity and creating new opportunities; (iii) growing our network of volunteers through creating strong relationships with new volunteers and maintaining connections with past volunteers and (iv) creating a volunteer manual to orient new volunteers.
