Farmland County Resources
These resources can help you get connected to more land, knowledgeable people and much more! The county resources include local conservation commissions, land trusts and other related organizations.
Conservation commissions are appointed municipal agencies responsible for administering the Wetlands Protection Act at the local level. The people who serve on conservation commissions are often good resources for local information regarding open space, farmland and other environmental issues. Conservation commissions can be great links to local networks.
A land trust is an association organized by common owners of real property, which holds title to the real property in the name of one or more trustees for the benefit of the owners, whose beneficial interests may be represented by trust certificates. Land trusts are often not-for-profit organizations; they are good resources for open space, possible farmland opportunities and networks to people in the know for local agricultural land.
