Livestock Field Schools

cowsJoin New Entry, regional livestock farmers, and experts from the Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in a series of one-day intensive livestock field schools. You will learn the “A to Z” hands-on and practical skills information about raising and grazing various livestock species for commercial markets. Trainings include lunch and a comprehensive resource binder. We will cover the basics of pasture management, rotational grazing, fencing, preventive animal care, routine treatments and handling, nutrition and feeding, breed selection and reproduction, and direct market opportunities.

The Livestock Field Schools are scheduled each month during the grazing season and will cover the following species:
