Alex is the Incubator Farm Manager at New Entry where he works with beginning farmers to get their businesses off the ground—or perhaps on the ground. He provides technical assistance to new farmers, teaches farming and production courses, and heads up overall land management for New Entry.
Alex graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Natural Resource Management, but found his summer job on a vegetable farm on Martha’s Vineyard to be slightly more rewarding than his studies. After graduation, Alex headed to South America to serve as an environmental management volunteer with the Peace Corps in the Peruvian highlands for nearly three years. Returning from the Peace Corps necessitated some soul searching, so he took a few months to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine before continuing his career as a vegetable farmer in New England.
Alex comes to New Entry after most recently spending four years as Operations Manager at Heron Pond Farm in New Hampshire. He balances out his time by serving on the board of his local Synagogue in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and by getting out and going for a run whenever New England weather permits. Alex can be reached by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. He’d love to hear from you.
