He holds an undergraduate degree in biology from Bradford College and an MBA from Bentley University, but it was his time as a graduate student at Tufts’ Freidman School of Nutrition Science and Policy that turned him on to joining New Entry’s leadership team.
Justin is Policy Advisor to New England Farmers Union, Lobbyist for National Farmers Union, and regularly advocates for sustainable farm interests, local food systems, and government conservation programs. He's s a trainer for the Produce Safety Alliance at Cornell University and provides instruction for compliance to FDA's Food Safety Modernication Act.
His favorite crops are those that epitomize the season in which they’re harvested: pea tendrils in spring; strawberries and rhubarb in early summer; stone fruit and tomatoes later on, and then pork and apples, leeks and squash in the fall. But beets are his favorite of all, because they’re loaded with sugar and they taste of the soil in which they’re grown more than any other vegetable on Earth.
