Pre-Conference to the Quivira Coalition Conference

We are excited to bring together the Agriculture Apprenticeship Learning Network (AgALN) and celebrate the progress our partners have made over the past year. We’ll explore the challenges ahead and opportunities for expanded action, plus highlight efforts underway to strengthen Apprenticeship Training programs across the country. We are building new connections to empower programs and farm and ranch mentors to improve their practical training skills and enhance next generation farmer outcomes.

This year's gathering will be at Hotel Albuquerque as a pre-conference to the Quivira Coalition Conference. We will be offering farm tour, interactive sessions and workshops, and lots of opportunities to network and learn from organizations around the country.

Topic ideas that we are particularly interested in are below:
• Legal Structures for on-Farm/Ranch Labor and Learning
• Policy Innovations, Funding, and Research Needed to Support Apprenticeships
• Strategies for Building a Successful Apprenticeship Program
• Outreach and Recruitment to Find the Best Candidates for Apprenticeships
• Developing Apprenticeship Curriculum
• Establishing Expectations and Effective Communications with Apprentices
• Feedback, Assessment and Evaluation of Apprenticeship Programs
• Farm/Ranch Mentor - Professional Development Opportunities and Needs
• Career Services and Ongoing Support for Apprentices (Land Access, Career Pathways, etc)
• Ways to Outreach/Encourage Farming as a Career Pathway
