Before finding farming and falling in love with it in college five years ago, Daniela was a professional ballet dancer with New York City Ballet. Upon starting to volunteer at her college farm, Daniela was pleasantly surprised — the movement and flow in the fields felt like when she was in the ballet studio training. The connections that farming sparks between people and food also felt quite similar to ballet performances that seek to impact an audience. Daniela hopes to find ways to bring the two together and share their numerous parallels with others. Now, in her first year at the incubator farm, Daniela has big aspirations for her farm. With Dancing Harvest, where she grows organic vegetables and herbs, she hopes to gain the skills and experience necessary to one day own and operate her own market and CSA farm (while dedicating her life to growing the sweetest carrots anyone has tasted).
