Up-and-Comers at New Entry

Zagat made official what we already knew, naming Margiana Petersen-Rockney among its ”30 Under 30: Boston's Hottest Up-and-Comers,” Zagat's annual list of the young stars of Boston's food world. In addition to being the Beginning Farmer Network of Massachusetts Coordinator at New Entry, Margiana started the Young Farmer Network and still finds time to run her own farm enterprise at Rosasharn Farm. In other words, when Zagat was looking for a farmer to include on their list (made up mostly of chefs), she was a pretty obvious choice.

There's another New Entry connection on the list: Rachel Miller is a sous chef at Bondir Concord, which is owned by friend-of-New-Entry Jason Bond. The more direction connection, though, is that Rachel partnered with New Entry Farm Business Planning Course graduate Veronika Chudik to create Bondir Gardens, which supplies the Bondir restaurants with local produce. Bondir Gardens got its start this year on Veronika's plot at New Entry's incubator training farms in Dracut, Mass.
