Elizabeth Combs, New Entry's National Program Manager

A big part of what we do at New Entry takes place beyond the deer fences. Through the training and support of beginner farmers, we also collaborate with dozens of organizations throughout Massachusetts, New England, and across North America, to nurture healthy and vibrant local food systems.

So we are excited to introduce Elizabeth Combs as our new National Program Manager, who brings a wide range of industry, business, and marketing experience to help New Entry make all that happen.  In her role, Elizabeth will manage our various national networks, training programs, and national conferences, including the National Incubator Farmer Training Initiative (NIFTI), the Aggriculture Apprentice Learning Network, and the USDA’s Community Food Projects Technical Assistance Program.

Elizabeth has studied and worked extensively around the issues of food justice, economic self-sufficiency and resource preservation in the food system. A recent graduate of the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, she holds a M.S. degree in Agriculture, Food and the Environment. Prior to her graduate food studies, she was the Global Strategic Intelligence lead for Dow Chemical Company’s Energy and Water Portfolio. In 2014 she was a MBA Scholar for the Institute for the Study of Business Markets at the Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business.

Elizabeth is the consummate team builder and enjoys connecting with others in agriculture and food systems. She can be reached at Elizabeth.Combs@tufts.edu.
