The 2018 CSA season is officially in full swing! With the help of volunteers from American Training, the Food Hub Team is busy aggregating produce from our alumni farmers and forming a bountiful fruit and vegetable share.

This growing season, New Entry Sustainable Farming Project is holding a brand new class that teaches students everything they need to know about producing crops! Our first class has 30 students enrolled, all of them excited to learn how to produce vegetable crops. The course started in April with indoor sessions for topics such as crop planning and introduction to sustainable agriculture and in May the class moved outdoors to New Entry’s incubator farm in Dracut for hands-on activities and field demonstrations.
Access to farmland remains one of the top challenges that new farmers face. New Entry is hosting a free workshop to help new farmers identify their land needs and navigate the land procurement process.
Save the Date! New Entry Sustainable Farming Project and Georgia Farmers Market Association (GFMA) are excited to announce their partnership in putting on the 2019 Community Food Systems Conference. The conference is set to take place in early December 2019 in Savannah, Georgia, and will address common underlying themes between food security, social justice and sustainable agriculture.

The Community Food Projects Competitive Grant Program (“CFP”) has engaged over 500,000 individuals in low-income and food insecure neighborhoods across the country over the last five years.
