New Entry’s Incubator Farm Training Program provides practical, hands-on training for beginning farmers who want to start and operate successful small farm businesses. After completing the Farm Business Planning Course and creating a personalized farm business plan, new farmers are eligible to lease land on our training farms at affordable rates for up to three years, with access to regular field-based trainings, one-on-one technical assistance from our expert staff, and use of basic farm infrastructure.
Shop at Whole Foods Market on Wednesday, December 14th and 5% of sales will benefit New Entry! Participating stores include: Arlington, Framingham, Lynnfield, Wellesley, Woburn, Westford, Medford, Melrose, and Wayland. This is an excellent opportunity to stock up on your holiday goodies while supporting new farmers and local food access. Thanks for your support!
The Beginning Farmer Education and Curriculum Coordinator will develop new farmer education strategies and build curriculum to provide high-quality training to small-scale, direct market beginning farmers, both on and off the field, on multiple aspects of farm enterprise development. She/he will oversee educational programs, courses and practical skills workshops for diverse adult learners. Other important work includes working with the farmer training team to develop, educate and support new producers to achieve economically viable farm businesses through group learning, individual farm coaching and financial technical assistance. This person will also support case management/technical assistance for participants in New Entry programs and services.
